What Perchy stores, what it does not, who handles it, and how long it is kept.

Last updated October 8, 2026

This is a plain language draft and has not yet had a lawyer's review.

1The short version

Perchy stores what it needs to run your channel and nothing more. It does not keep a log of every chat message. It does not sell data and it shows no ads. Your platform tokens are encrypted. You can delete your account, and what is tied to it, from Settings.

2What we store

To run your channel, Perchy keeps:

  • Your account: your name, your email address and which way you signed in, handled by our sign in provider.
  • Your channel's setup: commands, timers, moderation rules, overlays, giveaways, schedule, links and settings.
  • Platform connections: which accounts you connected, the permissions you granted, and the tokens that let Perchy act on them. Tokens are encrypted when stored.
  • Viewer records: for people who chat in your channel, a platform id, a display name, their seeds balance, streaks, counts, and any notes your team writes. This is what Flock shows.
  • Moderation history: actions taken in your channel, with the reason and who or what took them.
  • Counters: totals such as messages per minute, emote counts and chatters per stream, kept as numbers and not as messages.
  • Giveaways: the entries, shown publicly only as hashed ids, and the draw with its proof.

3What we do not store

Chat messages. Perchy reads chat as it happens, answers in memory and keeps counters. The exception is a few messages of context around a moderation action or a Moment, kept so you can see what happened. They expire with your plan's history: 30 days on Free, 1 year on Pro and 3 years on Studio.

Passwords. We do not hold any. Signing in is handled by our sign in provider.

4Who handles it

We use a small number of providers to run Perchy: a sign in provider (Clerk) for accounts, a database and realtime provider (Convex) for your data, a payment provider (Polar) for billing, and a hosting provider. When AI features are on, the text they work on is sent to an AI model provider. Each provider handles data only to give us that service.

5Data from the platforms

Perchy receives data from Twitch, YouTube and Kick through their official tools, and only what the permissions you granted allow. The platforms' rules apply to that data.

Data from YouTube is handled under YouTube's rules, including that stored YouTube viewer data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days. Perchy's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

You can take Perchy's access away at any time, on the platform itself or from the Connections page.

6AI features

When AI features are on for your channel, the text they need, such as a chat message to translate or a few messages around a moment, is sent to an AI model provider and used only for that purpose. We set daily spend limits, and an admin switch can turn AI off for everyone. You can leave AI features off.

7Cookies and storage

This public site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It stores your language in a cookie and your theme choice in your browser's storage, so it remembers them.

The app uses cookies from our sign in provider to keep you signed in.

8How long we keep things

In general:

  • Channel setup and viewer records stay while your account exists.
  • History, such as moderation context, moments and recaps, is kept for as long as your plan's history allows.
  • Items paused after a downgrade are kept for 90 days, with reminders.
  • When you delete your account, the data tied to it is deleted from our systems.

9Your choices

You can see your data in the dashboard, edit it, export what the export tool offers, disconnect a platform, and delete your account from Settings. A viewer who wants their record removed can ask the owner of the channel they chat in, who controls it.

10Children

Perchy is for people who are old enough to use the platforms they connect, and at least 13. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children.

11Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the dashboard or by email before it applies.
