What it watches
Shapes, not meaning.
Perchy does not try to understand what chat is saying. It watches how chat behaves compared with its own recent past, so a quiet channel and a huge one both get sensible moments.
Chat speed
A sudden jump in messages per second, scaled to your usual size.
Laughing and hype
English and Arabic laughter, hype words and emote bursts, counted as they arrive.
Subs and gifts
A cluster of new subs or a gifted sub run in a short window.
Raids
A raid landing, with who sent it and how many came.
Your own cue
A viewer or mod typing "clip that" or the Arabic equivalent counts as a vote.
Viewer jumps
The count climbing faster than it usually does.
On each platform
A clip where a clip exists. A marked time where it does not.
Only Twitch lets a bot create a clip. We would rather say so than pretend.
Twitch
Clips the moment
Uses Twitch's clip tool with your permission. The channel has to be live and clips switched on, and a clip can take up to a minute to appear.
YouTube
Marks the time
YouTube's API has no way to create a clip. Perchy marks the moment and saves a link to that point in the VOD, so you can cut it yourself.
Kick

Kick's API has no clip tool either. Perchy marks the moment and saves the VOD link to that point.

When the stream ends, you get the story of it.
